Arch Coal Bids $86m For Otter Creek Tracts In Montana

Arch Coal has said that it has won a bid for the state coal lease known as Otter Creek Tracts located in southeastern Montana. Arch made a one-time bonus bid for the lease of $85.8m, payable in April 2010.

Phoenix Coal Signs Agreement To Sell Gryphon Reserve

Phoenix Coal has entered into an agreement to sell Gryphon reserve, which is comprised of the property leases controlled through the acquisition of Pact Resources and the Petersburg sublease, and certain other associated assets to a US-based coal producer. The proceeds from the sale of the Gryphon assets are $23m in cash.
